7-Day Cultural Tour

Day 1: Arrive Paro International Airport from Bangkok
During the flight, on a clear day, you can see breathtaking views of the Himalaya Mountains, including the sacred Jumolhari and Jichu
Drake peaks in Bhutan. On arrival you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel.
In the afternoon you can visit the following places:
-- Paro Rinpong Dzong (fortress)
-- National Museum (watch tower)
-- Kyichu Lhakhang (oldest monastery)
-- Drugyal Dzong (victory fortress)
In the evening you can explore Paro town.

Day 2: Paro - Thimphu (2-hour drive):
After breakfast hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan's most famous monastery. It is perched on the edge of a
steep cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. The hike to reach the viewpoint to the monastery makes for a nice half-day excursion.
After lunch, drive to Thimphu. In the evening you can explore Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, and absorb the lifestyle of the people.

Day 3: Thimphu sightseeing:
After breakfast you will visit the following places:
-- King's Memorial Chorten (Monument)
-- Chang Gangkha Monastery (one of the oldest monastery in the valley)
-- National Zoo (contains national animal takin)
-- National Library (collections of holy scripts)
-- Folk Heritage Museum
-- Textile Museum
-- School of Arts and Crafts (also known as the painting school)
-- National Institute of Traditional Medicine
-- Traditional Paper Factory (made from Daphne plant)
-- Simtokha Dzong (the oldest fortress in the kingdom)
-- Majestic Tashicho Dzong (Thimphu fortress)

Day 4: Thimphu - Punakha (3-hour drive)
After breakfast you will drive to Punakha, with a stop en route for tea at Dochu La (3,100 meters), where on a clear day you can get
spectacular views of the Himalayan Mountains.
After lunch you will visit Punakha Dzong, which is noteworthy both for being one of the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan. You will also
take a 20-minute walk through the rice fields to Chimi Lakhang, which is a fertility temple. Overnight in Punakha
Day 5: Punakha - Thimphu (3 hour drive)
After breakfast you will drive to Thimphu. In the afternoon you will visit the weekend market, where you can stroll through the aisles to
see the variety of food of the country, including basket upon basket of fiery chilies, fresh cheese, and mangoes. In addition, many
stalls contain Bhutanese handicrafts and household items. It's fun to wander the aisles, taking in the bustling atmosphere of the
market. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 6: Thimphu - Paro (morning hike to Tango Monastery)
In the morning you will drive 12km north of Thimphu to hike to Tango (Horse's Head) monastery. It will take about 45 minutes to hike
to the monastery. Tango Monastery is a Buddhist college, and it's the residence of the Desi Tenzin Rabgye, a young boy who is the
reincarnation of the 16th-century monk who built Tango.
In the late afternoon you will drive to Paro. If you wish, you can visit a traditional farmhouse and enjoy a typical Bhutanese dinner.

Day 7: Depart Paro for Bangkok
