Trekking in Bhutan is an unique experience. The beautiful landscape,
combined with a traditional way of life and a buddhist culture is a wonderful
discovery.
The amount of forest is striking. More than 70% of the country is blanketed in
forest. A trek in Bhutan takes you through dense mixed forests of oak, wild
peach, bamboo, rhododendron, magnolia, Azelea, blue pine, chir pine, cypress
and fir. Bhutan has been known by a variety of names that evoke images of the
landscape: The Tibetans had many names for Bhutan: such as "Lho Menjong"
(Southern Land of Medicinal Herbs) suggesting
the richness of the flora. ....<<<<More
We are very happy we came to Bhutan. Although it does cost more to visit, your
company made it all worthwhile. We appreciated the opportunity to eat in a
variety of restaurants, the pace of the trip was just right. We enjoyed every day
and at no time did we have any doubts our safety and comfort. It was a joy and
a priviledge to learn about Bhutan and we will recommend your services.

In almost every Dzong (monastic fortress) and monastery there is an annual traditional festival (Tsechu). Tsechus usually take
place on or around the 10th day of the month according to the lunar calendar. The normal duration for a tshechus is three days.
Tourists are welcomed to the tshechus and are expected to respect the sanctity of the festival. Due to the nature of the lunar
calendar exact dates of tshechus vary from year to year.
For any particular festival and cultural tour you will have to consult with us usless the dates are given in our site ..<<<More
Miss Bhutan – Not a GNH brand ambassador
18 July, 2008 - The Gross National Happiness (GNH) tag is no more attached to the much controversial first national beauty
pageant Miss Bhutan, after a notice was issued by Bhutan infocomm and media authority (BICMA) to the organiser, which was
followed by a discussion between the two parties.
The organiser, director of MPC Bhutan Entertainment, Karma Tshering, said that, prior to their discussion, he received a notice
from BICMA to make some changes to his proposal. >>>More

Farmers reel from wildlife crop damage
18 July, 2008 - Bhutanese believe that the sight of this pachyderm, The Precious Elephant, one of the Seven Jewels, brings
good luck and prosperity. Ironically, for farmers living in the southern dzongkhags, it is quite the opposite.
The elephant also symbolizes strength and this aspect is more apt as herds of wild elephants running wild and destroying
acres of crops have been a regular routine every summer.
